Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead our culinary team. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure high-quality standards are met consistently.
- Manage food production processes, including menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and portion control.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities.
- Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor performance to optimise workflow.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and control food costs to maximise efficiency.
- Develop new dishes and seasonal menus to keep offerings innovative and appealing.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation within the kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary setting, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Demonstrable leadership abilities with experience managing a diverse team of kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house personnel.
- Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality settings is highly desirable.
