Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Nursery Break & Lunch Cover. This role involves supervising children during break and lunch periods, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in appropriate activities. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a nurturing environment and supporting the daily routines of our nursery. Previous experience in early childhood education or childcare is highly desirable, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children during break and lunch times, ensuring their safety at all times
- Organise and facilitate age-appropriate activities to promote socialisation and development
- Support children with their personal needs, including feeding and toileting when required
- Maintain a clean and organised environment, adhering to health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with children, colleagues, and parents or guardians as needed
- Assist with behaviour management in a positive and constructive manner
- Support nursery management with daily routines and organisational tasks as required
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare practices
- Strong management and leadership skills to oversee children's activities effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work flexibly during scheduled break and lunch periods
- Compassionate, patient, organised, and able to work well within a team
- Previous childcare or nursery experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Pay: £10.00-£13.45 per hour
