Site Supervisor
The Role
We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Site Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day running of our sites and ensure work is delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.
Acting as the key point of contact on site, you'll coordinate teams and subcontractors, uphold health and safety standards, and keep projects running smoothly from start to finish.
The ideal candidate is a confident leader with strong site experience, a keen eye for quality and a no-compromise approach to safety.
You'll be organised, practical and a clear communicator, comfortable liaising with everyone from operatives to clients and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Site Operations
- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities on site, ensuring work is completed to programme and specification.
- Allocate tasks and manage on-site teams, subcontractors and operatives, monitoring productivity and standards.
- Plan and organise labour, materials, plant and equipment to keep work progressing efficiently.
- Manage deliveries, materials handling and storage, minimising waste and delays.
- Monitor work quality, carry out inspections and ensure any defects are rectified promptly.
- Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, timesheets and progress reports.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong health and safety culture on site at all times.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with relevant legislation, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and regular safety briefings.
- Carry out site safety checks and report and resolve hazards, incidents and near-misses.
- Ensure correct use of PPE and that all operatives hold the necessary certifications.
Communication & Reporting
- Act as the main point of contact on site for the team, subcontractors and clients.
- Report progress, issues and risks to the Manager, escalating where needed.
- Attend site and progress meetings and contribute to planning.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or in a similar site-based supervisory role.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice on site.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification - if you don't hold one, we'll put you through the course.
- First Aid at Work certificate.
- Experience in voids and construction industry.
