Alongside our high street stores we own and operate a vending estate at 1000’s of locations throughout the UK, we have also, partnered with some of the UK’s major providers of parcel lockers. Our team is now actively involved in site surveys and locker installation throughout the UK. Our surveys are the first stage in our operations to carry out, preparatory works which include, low voltage power installations and trenching/utilities installation along with the construction of concrete bases, prior to final machine installation. We have a national team of surveyors/installers, using our own digital portal to produce site specific location information. With the company expanding and growing this will be a multi functional role to allow the successful candidate to learn, upskill and expand their skill base
Site Survey and Install Engineer - The Role:
Due to rapid expansion, a number of exciting new opportunities have arisen for additional Site Survey and install engineers to join our growing team. The successful candidates will be responsible for visiting pre-designated sites within a geographical region and carrying out pre-installation site surveys for potential machine installations. The role will also include the installation of parcel lockers and similar vending assets as the needs of the company change. This will involve extensive travel including nights away, with all hotels and expenses paid for by the company. All survey/installation visits are arranged with clients prior to surveyor/installer visit.
Areas: We are currently looking to engage with new surveyors throughout the UK.
Site Survey and Install Engineer - Key Responsibilities:
- Organise and plan own routes based on pre-agreed site locations
- Visit survey sites in accordance with agreed schedule
- Make introduction to site colleagues and comply with any site survey restrictions
- Comply with all site H&S requirements including wearing suitable PPE
- Setup site within strict company procedures to ensure public safety
- Identify and photograph appropriate areas, following our online survey questionnaire, to produce detailed survey output.
- Make recommendations regarding cabling routes and machine size along with location commentary.
- Take critical measurements and note any specific site requirements
- Complete and submit online survey form for each site
- Complete parcel locker and vending asset installations as part of a team
- Other duties to be confirmed as the company continues to build
- Represent Timpson in a smart and professional manner
Site Survey and Install Engineer – Skills Required
- Literate and numerate with the ability to carry out site measurements
- Ability to read basic site drawings
- An ability to think logically and identify solutions
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication skills and an ability to liaise with site colleagues
- Above all, a team player who has the energy and enthusiasm to get the job done
- No site surveying experience required as training will be given
- Reliability and the ability to work independently, whilst being supported by our admin team.
- Full UK driving licence
- Must be flexible on daily start and finish times – The role expectations are usually achievable within an 8.5 hour day, but due to travelling and traffic irregularities, days can be longer or shorter.
- Must be able to plan own time to maximise output.
- Must be adaptable and able to work within a team to meet new challenges.
- Must embrace new tasks as the needs of the business change over time.
- Must be self motivated.
- Must be physically fit
- Willing to upskill and be keen to learn
