Role Overview:
The role of a Recruitment & Compliance Officer is fundamental to the ongoing success of talent acquisition and ensuring the staffing needs of the organisation are met in a safe, compliant, and effective manner.
In this position, you will hold responsibility for end-to-end recruitment activity, from sourcing and selecting candidates, through to ensuring full compliance with safer recruitment standards prior to onboarding. You will ensure all candidates not only align with our vision, mission, and values, but also meet all regulatory and organisational compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage vacancy advertising, ensuring all recruitment materials reflect safeguarding, safer recruitment, and organisational values.
- Maintain accurate recruitment systems and candidate records throughout the hiring and onboarding process.
- Screen applications, identifying employment gaps, inconsistencies, and potential safeguarding concerns.
- Coordinate interviews, embedding safeguarding-focused questions and values-based recruitment practices.
- Support hiring managers and agencies to ensure safer recruitment standards and evidence-based selection decisions.
- Oversee pre-employment checks, risk assessments, and onboarding documentation before employment begins.
- Escalate and resolve safeguarding or compliance concerns, applying professional curiosity where required.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, safeguarding policies, Ofsted requirements, audits, and regulatory frameworks.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in recruitment and/or compliance.
- Strong knowledge of safer recruitment, safeguarding requirements, and pre-employment checks.
- Experience using recruitment systems and maintaining accurate, auditable records.
- Ability to identify and manage safeguarding, compliance, and employment history concerns.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with hiring managers and recruitment agencies.
