Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join us as a cook in our cafe. The role involves preparing and cooking a variety of dishes from a breakfast and lunch menu, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, and ideally have experience working in a kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Food preparation and cooking of menu items
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene protocols
- Organise and manage meal preparation to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
- Assist with stock control, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately
- Contribute to creating a welcoming environment for guests through excellent service when required
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or catering setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Experience with meal preparation, including handling various ingredients and cooking techniques
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in professional kitchens
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask effectively
- Serving experience is advantageous but not essential; a friendly attitude towards guests is important
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
