SHEQ Manager
Location: Nationwide with travel to sites

About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and experienced SHEQ Manager to lead a team of SHEQ Advisors and Compliance Officers, ensuring that safety, quality, and sustainability remain at the heart of all operations.
This role is key to shaping and delivering the company’s SHEQ strategy, embedding a strong safety culture, and ensuring compliance with UK legislation and ISO standards. You’ll act as the link between operational delivery and senior leadership—managing risks, supporting teams, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and develop SHEQ Advisors and Compliance Officers.
- Oversee site audits, inspections, and compliance checks across multiple projects.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Support the development and delivery of company-wide SHEQ strategies.
- Monitor, report, and improve SHEQ performance metrics.
- Maintain SHEQ records and documentation, including risk assessments, COSHH, and method statements.
- Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, CDM regulations, and ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards.
- Drive sustainability initiatives including waste management, biodiversity, and carbon reduction.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulators to ensure high standards across supply chains.
- Support internal and external audits and accreditation processes.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- NEBOSH Diploma (or NEBOSH General Certificate with strong management experience).
- Proven experience in a SHEQ leadership role (construction, renewables, or energy sector preferred).
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001.
- Excellent understanding of UK HSE legislation.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Organised, detail-driven, and proactive.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations, Temporary Works, and renewable energy projects.
- Experience in client-facing SHEQ roles, including audits and regulator liaison.
