Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Girls & Mini Stags Football Coach to inspire and develop young athletes through organised football programmes. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development among children and teenagers. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning engaging training sessions, coaching teams during matches, and promoting a positive sporting environment. Prior experience in sports coaching and teaching is highly desirable, along with a genuine enthusiasm for working with young people.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate football training sessions that emphasise skill development, teamwork, and enjoyment
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for all participants
- Provide constructive feedback to players to support their growth and confidence
- Organise team practices, and events in collaboration with club
- Maintain equipment and ensure the playing area is safe and well-prepared before sessions
- Promote positive behaviour and sports values among all participants
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and programme organisers regarding player progress and upcoming activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, preferably within youth football programmes
- Strong knowledge of football techniques, rules, and safety procedures
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging training sessions
- Ability to motivate young athletes and foster a team-oriented environment
- Good communication skills suitable for working with children, parents, and colleagues
- Enthusiasm for working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Relevant safeguarding or first aid certifications are advantageous but not essential; training can be provided if necessary
