Role overview
We are looking for an SC / DV Security Cleared and experienced Construction Site Manager to support a secure infrastructure project for a specialist design‑and‑build contractor working on highly regulated public sector schemes. You will oversee day‑to‑day site activities on a live project in Bedfordshire, ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly and to programme.
This is a long‑term contract role, outside IR35, with an immediate start for the right person.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily site operations for building, fit‑out and associated infrastructure works.
- Lead, brief and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality and productivity.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, security and environmental requirements at all times.
- Monitor progress against programme, identify risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Liaise with the client, project manager and design team to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain site records, permits, RAMS and daily/weekly reporting.
Experience and skills
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on building / fit‑out / infrastructure projects, ideally in secure, MOD, defence or other highly regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, trade coordination and quality control.
- Solid health and safety track record (SMSTS/SSSTS and CSCS/CSR or equivalent preferred).
- Ability to manage subcontractors and build effective working relationships with the client team.
- Excellent communication, organisation and reporting skills.
- Security clearance (SC or DV) is essential
Contract details
- Location: Bedfordshire (site based; full details provided at interview).
- Day rate: £350–£400 per day, dependent on experience and security clearance level.
- Engagement: Outside IR35 via Ltd company (subject to status).
- Start: Immediate.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work by agreement.
