Head Chef for independent Islington pub.
£40-45,000 per annum based on a 40 hour working week. Plus potential £5k bonus and tips.
The Earl of Essex is a well established independent pub in Islington, serving the best beers we can get our hands on, and laying on a spread of excellent pubby food inspired by British classics. Menus change quarterly with rotating specials in between, using high quality ingredients. We love Sunday Roasts and it’s a big day for the pub, and something that drives a lot of our food sales. We're looking for someone to take creative leadership over the food offer whilst working in the brief, creating an identity for the kitchen, and building a cohesive team. We offer the chance for a good deal of autonomy and input with a supportive structure.
We are part of a steadily growing group of pubs and bars focussing on the best products and fostering the best teams we can. We put a lot of focus on trying to create a positive working environment and a good work-life balance. Our contracts are based on a 40 hour working week and we support you in building your team to be strong enough to allow you to stick to those hours.
We are part of the Grace Land Group, which includes The Black Heart, The Axe, Red Hand, The Bethnal Green Tavern, Duke of St Albans and our own brewery and bar in Hackney, Saint Monday. As a growing company there is great opportunity for growth within the business.
