Full Time 37 hours per week
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Transport Data Team playing a vital role in shaping how people travel across Devon. The wider team has secured multi-year funding and is in the process of setting a long-term programme for capital and revenue transport projects across the county.
Your role will include commissioning, collecting, collating and analysing transport data that underpins the development of a wide range of transport projects, spanning flagship active travel schemes, major highways infrastructure projects and county-wide public transport interventions. By providing reliable transport data and analysis, your work supports safer roads, sustainable travel choices and informed planning decisions for future growth.
You will support internal and external partners with traffic data to help deliver work programmes for the transport planning and highways teams, and gather evidence to help respond to Councillors, stakeholders and the public.
We are in the process of modernising data collection, looking at GPS data and above ground detection, providing opportunities to learn about software such as AI technology and Power BI in transport data.
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys working with data, is methodical and organised, self-motivated and takes pride in producing clear, high‑quality results, to contribute towards a safer, healthier and more sustainable future for Devon.
The post will be full time and will be based at County Hall, with flexible working and the potential for a proportion of homeworking during the working week.
