Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to make deliveries to restaurants, hotels, and other wholesalers deliveries. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering goods to various locations in the London, home counties areas, and locations within driving range of home base, alongside a drivers mate whilst maintaining excellent customer service standards. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics team, ensuring timely deliveries across multiple sites. Starting times vary from 3am to 8am depending on the route. There is no overnight work in this position.
Duties
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure the lorry is in safe working condition before departure
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, including tail lift, across designated routes
- It will be your and your drivers mates responsibility to load and unload cargo, using the tail lift and electric pallet truck when needed, adhering to health and safety regulations and training
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain signatures upon completion of each drop
- Follow all driving regulations and company policies to ensure safety at all times
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during routes
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout the shift
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 license with a clean driving record
- Driver CPC
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery driver
- Good knowledge of UK roads and delivery routes within the region
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation
- Excellent customer service skills to represent the company professionally during deliveries
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks
