Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. Duties
- Lead and supervise care staff to deliver compassionate and professional assistance to residents.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and medication management in accordance with individual care plans.
- Develop, review, and update personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, recognising any changes that may require medical attention or intervention.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment at all times.
- Support residents in participating in social activities and promote their independence.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and communicate effectively with team members regarding residents’ needs.
- Assist with organising transportation for appointments or outings, utilising driving skills when necessary.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care or supervising within a care home setting.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members.
- Competence in developing and implementing personalised care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for assisting with transportation needs.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, health & safety regulations, and safeguarding procedures.
