Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Workshop Controller to oversee daily workshop operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating vehicle repairs, managing workshop workflow, and ensuring high standards of service delivery. Duties
- Coordinate and prioritise repair and maintenance work to ensure timely completion
- Liaise with technicians, customers, and suppliers to facilitate smooth workshop operations
- Allocate tasks effectively among team members based on skill levels and workload
- Monitor progress of ongoing jobs and update relevant parties accordingly
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and organisational policies
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and job completion times
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to uphold service excellence
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Requirements
- Proven experience in a mechanical or automotive workshop environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex repair procedures
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive or mechanical engineering are desirable
