Commercial Vehicle Bodies Ltd is a leading name in the custom commercial vehicle industry. We pride ourselves on engineering high-quality, bespoke bodies for trucks and vans. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Specialist to join our dynamic team and drive growth in this specialist market.
The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and customer-focused individual who can manage the entire sales lifecycle, from initial enquiry to final quotation, order and dispatch. This role is crucial to our business, requiring a blend of technical understanding and exceptional interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively prospect and generate new business opportunities within the truck and van body sector.
- Manage and nurture existing client relationships, ensuring repeat business and high customer satisfaction.
- Produce accurate and detailed sales quotations using new internal system platforms (full training provided).
- Collaborate effectively with the design and manufacturing teams to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Negotiate contracts and manage client expectations throughout the build process.
- Represent the company professionally at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
- Collaborating cross-functionally on ad-hoc projects to ensure smooth daily operation
Essential Requirements
- Proven Track Record in Sales: A demonstrable history of achieving and exceeding sales targets, ideally within a related manufacturing, commercial vehicle, or engineering environment.
- Excellent People Skills: Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, with a natural talent for building rapport and maintaining professional relationships.
- Technically Minded: Ability to understand technical specifications, interpret customer needs, and translate them into actionable quotes.
- Adaptability to New Systems: Must be keen and able to quickly learn and master new quotation, and internal processing software systems.
- Driving Licence: A current and valid UK driving licence is essential.
- Team Player & Independent Worker: Ability to work effectively as a cohesive part of a team, while also being self-motivated and capable of managing individual sales pipelines efficiently.
Desirable (Advantageous)
- Experience in the commercial vehicle industry (truck/van bodies, trailers, etc.).
- Ability to drive and manoeuvre commercial vehicles (HGV Class 1 or 2 licence is an advantage, but not essential).
