Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and personable Receptionist/Service Advisor to join our busy automotive service centre. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing appointments, working with computers and garage management system, costing jobs, ordering parts and assisting with various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to upselling services. Previous experience in customer service or the automotive industry is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly upon arrival and ensure a positive first impression of the centre
- Manage customer appointments efficiently, confirming and rescheduling as necessary
- Provide accurate information regarding services offered and upsell additional maintenance or repair options where appropriate
- Handle cash transactions and process payments securely
- Maintain organised records of customer interactions, vehicle details, and service history
- Liaise with technicians to relay customer concerns and ensure timely completion of work
- Assist with general administrative duties including answering phone calls, replying to emails, and managing paperwork
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and professional at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in customer service or a related role; experience in the automotive industry is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in automotive technology is desirable
- Ability to handle cash accurately and confidently manage cash handling procedures
- Demonstrated ability to upsell services tactfully to maximise centre revenue
- Organised with excellent attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Friendly, approachable demeanour with a professional attitude
- Flexibility to work during centre operating hours, including occasional weekends if required

Pay: £12.00-£16.00 per hour
