Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment through proactive troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to minimise downtime.
- Troubleshoot complex machinery issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including welding and mechanical parts, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimise programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation.
- Supervise maintenance activities carried out by team members or external contractors, ensuring adherence to schedules and safety protocols.
- Lead small teams during maintenance projects, demonstrating leadership and organisational skills.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades for compliance and future reference.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge is essential.
- Proficiency in working with schematics and technical diagrams.
- Skilled in welding techniques and familiar with industrial safety standards.
- Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC systems is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team under pressure.
