Delivery & Customer Service Assistant
Location: Birmingham
Hours: Full-time 6am - 14:30pm
Job Summary:
We are a family run business in Birmingham city centre with an opportunity for a reliable and friendly candidate to join our team. This varied role involves delivering milk and groceries in the mornings, assisting with catering deliveries around Birmingham during the day, and helping with shopping and in-store duties in the afternoon. The ideal candidate will be proactive, customer-focused, and happy to lend a hand wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver milk and groceries to regular customers during early morning rounds.
- Support our catering delivery service by transporting food orders across Birmingham.
- Assist with purchasing and collecting stock or supplies as required.
- Provide excellent customer service at every stage of delivery and collection.
- Help serve customers in the shop when needed, using the till and card payment machines as necessary.
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean, tidy, and in good working order.
- Follow all health and safety, hygiene, and food handling procedures.
- Represent the business positively through friendly, professional conduct.
Skills and Experience:
- Full and clean UK driving licence (essential).
- Previous experience in delivery, retail or catering preferred but not essential.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Physically fit and able to handle light to moderate lifting, with some occasional heavy lifting required.
- Flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks throughout the day.
