Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team and drive a range of vehicles from 3.5T to 44T to suit the business needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. Experience with curtain side (also tailifts) and flatbed driving is highly desirable, as the role may involve handling various types of cargo. This role will also require nights out when required.
Responsibilities
- Operate a lorry in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all road regulations.
- Load and unload goods, securing cargo appropriately for transport.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by the company.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Ensure that all deliveries are made on time while adhering to the specified routes.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients upon delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver.
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with local roads and routes is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in managing delivery schedules.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £15.60 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 65 per week
