Cover Supervisor
Location: Rhyl, Denbighshire
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Temporary
Excell Supply is seeking reliable, confident, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Rhyl and the surrounding areas. Successful candidates will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged in learning activities and maintain high standards of behaviour.
This role is ideal for individuals considering a career in education, recent graduates, teaching assistants looking to progress, or those with experience working with young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during teacher absences.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students in completing assigned work.
- Ensure a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
- Report on student progress, behaviour, and any issues arising during lessons.
- Assist with other school duties as required.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work confidently with secondary school-aged students.
- A positive, flexible, and professional attitude.
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
