Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the café runs smoothly during busy periods. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. Duties
- Prepare and serve a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Assist customers with menu selections and provide excellent service to enhance their experience
- Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and customer areas throughout shifts
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during busy periods
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently, including food handling protocols
- Support with basic food preparation tasks when required, such as assembling light snacks or pastries
Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform food preparation tasks accurately and efficiently
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders during peak times
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients
- Excellent communication skills to engage positively with customers and team members
- Organised with good attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness and service
