Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 3.5T Collection & Delivery Driver specialising in palletised goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely collecting and delivering items to various locations, ensuring timely and efficient service. This role requires a professional approach with excellent driving skills, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to handle heavy loads. Candidates must hold relevant driving qualifications and have prior experience in commercial driving or warehouse operations.
Duties
- Safely operate a 3.5-tonne vehicle for collection and delivery of pallets to designated sites.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling of heavy or bulky items.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed within scheduled timeframes while maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and mileage logs.
- Follow all health and safety regulations during operations to prevent accidents or damage.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with knowledge of commercial driving regulations.
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for a 3.5T vehicle, with a clean driving record.
- Experience working in warehouse environments or handling heavy lifting tasks safely.
- Strong organisational skills to manage schedules efficiently and ensure timely deliveries.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and team members.
- Ability to operate vehicles safely under various conditions and adhere to road safety laws.
- Physically fit to handle heavy loads and perform manual handling tasks as required.
