Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food preparation
- Develop innovative menus in line with current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Oversee food production, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Manage food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Coordinate with suppliers to maintain stock levels and oversee inventory control
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their skills and professional development
- Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to ensure smooth functioning
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in accordance with hygiene standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Demonstrated expertise in culinary arts, including menu development and food presentation
- Experience in managing food production processes and maintaining high standards of quality
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, serving procedures, and customer service principles
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment with excellent organisational skills
