Project Manager – Construction, Fit-Out, Refurbishment, External Works & Roofing
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of up to four live (but not limited) interior fit-out, refurbishment, external refurbishment and roofing projects across the UK, with a combined project value of up to £750,000.
The role requires a proactive and commercially aware individual who can independently manage clients, subcontractors, programmes, budgets and project delivery from handover through to completion and final account. The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage multiple interior fit-out, refurbishment, external refurbishment and roofing projects across the UK.
· Take ownership of projects from handover through to completion and final account.
· Manage project programmes, budgets, procurement and resource planning.
· Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including preparing enquiries, obtaining and evaluating quotations, negotiating costs and appointing subcontractors in line with project budgets and programmes.
· Coordinate site managers, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades, including internal finishes, roofing contractors and external works packages.
· Monitor project performance against programme, budget, quality and safety objectives.
· Attend and lead client meetings, progress reviews and site inspections.
· Manage project costs, variations, procurement and financial reporting.
· Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and company procedures.
· Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues proactively.
· Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company professionally.
· Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.
Candidate RequirementsEssential
· Minimum 5 years' experience managing construction, fit-out, refurbishment, external works or roofing projects.
· Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong understanding of commercial fit-out, refurbishment, external building works and roofing projects.
· Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills.
· Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets and variations.
· Experience procuring subcontractor packages, evaluating quotations and managing subcontractor performance throughout project delivery.
· Ability to work independently and take ownership of project delivery.
· Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
· Full UK Driving Licence.
· Competent in Microsoft Office and project management software.
