Cosgrove is a leading learning disability charity dedicated to helping with additional support needs to fulfil their ambitions and achieve their goals. We provide a care at home service in Giffnock and surrounding areas. We deliver innovative services, which empower people to increase their independence and improve their opportunities in life.
We are recruiting peripatetic workers who, on a rotational basis will provide support across all our services to ensure that our dedicated staff are getting appropriate meal and wellbeing breaks during long shifts.
Mid-week, the support would be provided between the hours of 11am and 2:30pm and at the weekend, between 11am and 6pm.
As our ideal candidate, you will have wide ranging experience of supporting individuals, ability to work on your own while effectively communicating with a wider team of colleagues. You should have an outgoing and positive personality and be adaptable and responsive with a can-do attitude.
To navigate our estate and get to your services timeously, you will have access to a fleet car, so a full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
The successful candidate will be required to be a member or make an application for the PVG scheme and undertake registration with the SSSC.
Rate of Pay: £13.45 per hour.
Positions available:
Midweek role – 16.5 hours per week
Weekend role – 14 hours per week
We would consider merging these vacancies and offering a job share post to combine weekend and mid-week working on a rotational basis for the right candidates.
It is desirable, but not essential that the successful candidate will have:
- A relevant SVQ2 in Health and Social Care, Promoting Independence (or equivalent) or have the ability to progress to such a qualification.
- Previous experience with supporting adults in a care-at-home setting or adults with additional needs.
