Job Description
As a Reporting Manager at UNiDAYS, you will lead and develop a 2-person reporting team, fostering an environment of high performance, continuous learning, and clear accountability. While a significant portion of your time will be dedicated to management, you will remain hands-on, directly delivering reporting projects alongside your team.
Leaning on your experience, you will own the health and scalability of our reporting estate, setting the standards for design, user experience, data modelling and BI best practices. You will take ownership of large, cross-functional initiatives, using agile methodologies you’ll ensure the team's daily work aligns with immediate business priorities and adapts as needs evolve.
Beyond direct line management and technical delivery, you will embed yourself within the business to champion and improve self-service Tableau reporting. You will act as a mentor and coach, creating safe spaces for honest conversation, driving business alignment, and improving data communication and dashboard discoverability organisation-wide.
Job Requirements
Technical Leadership and Delivery
- Provides technical guidance on BI tools, creating internal best practices and reusable components while owning the health and scalability of our reporting estate.
- Leads on the development of scalable reporting systems and modelling standards, solving complex problems across domains, and remaining hands-on by directly delivering key reporting projects.
- Takes ownership of large cross-functional initiatives, identifying the best visualisation based on data and context to lead the business improving the adoption of self-service Tableau reporting.
- Trains others on effective data communication, improving dashboard discoverability and clarity org-wide while coaching teams on outcome-focused BI development.
Team Management and Coaching
- Takes function and business goals translating them into team objectives (OKR’s), breaking down activities into clear tasks using agile framework to ensure daily work aligns with immediate and long term priorities.
- Mentors reporting analysts (from junior up to senior level), providing clear, direct feedback with respect, encouraging development plans, and consistently applying standards
- Coaches others through ambiguity and identifies emerging talent, encouraging experimentation, learning from mistakes, and reinforcing ownership of outcomes
Stakeholder and Resource Management
- Coordinates team activities in collecting business requirements, scope, goals, and key stakeholders, guiding prioritisation and adapting as business needs evolve.
- Negotiates with stakeholders to identify trade-offs, building trust through clear, respectful communication and encouraging inclusion in team dialogue.
- Models empathy, self-reflection, and inclusion, creating safe spaces for honest conversation and feedback to support individual growth aligned with business needs.
Job Responsibilities
- 6+ years of prior experience in a business intelligence and reporting development role with demonstrable examples of directly delivering complex, cross-functional reporting initiatives with enterprise level reporting solutions such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker.
- Strong knowledge in both modelling data for reporting needs across reporting estates, including strong to advanced knowledge of SQL in business intelligence context.
- At least 2 years of experience in a management role, with proven ability to coach individuals through ambiguity, objective setting, accelerate the progression of emerging talent and individual performance management.
- At least 2 years of experience using Tableau, with the ability to provide technical guidance, build internal best practices, and drive self-service reporting capabilities across the business.
- An inquisitive and highly communicative nature, equipped to negotiate trade-offs with stakeholders and translate complex business requirements into scalable data modelling solutions.
- A strong understanding of outcome-focused management frameworks, with a track record of building trust, providing direct feedback, and aligning individual growth with organisational goals.
