Head Driver

Alandas Group is a family-run business with a number of well-established food outlets across East Lothian and Edinburgh. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a hands-on Head Driver to join our team and take ownership of daily logistics, stock, and operational organisation across our sites.
This is a fast-paced, practical role suited to someone confident in leading others, maintaining structure, and keeping operations running smoothly.
The Role:
You’ll oversee deliveries, stock control, and logistics while managing drivers and supporting day-to-day operations across multiple locations, including our Longniddry beachfront seafood grill kiosk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily logistics and deliveries to all Alandas locations
- Confidently manage and direct a small team — someone who can tell people what to do when needed
- Safely and efficiently drive a van (up to 5 tonnes)
- Create staff rotas and manage operational paperwork
- Carry out regular stock checks and full stocktakes
- Maintain accurate stock levels across outlets, warehouse, and factory
- Manage, update, and improve stock control spreadsheets (Excel)
- Organise and collect supplier deliveries
- Unload, sort, and organise stock within the warehouse
- Set up and manage stock for our Longniddry beachfront seafood grill kiosk
- Support basic maintenance tasks across sites where required
- Identify inefficiencies and contribute ideas to improve systems and processes
Requirements
- Valid, Clean UK driving licence and access to your own car
- Confident driving a van up to 5 tonnes
- Minimum age of 25 (insurance requirement)
- Proven experience with stock control and stocktaking
- Competent and confident using Excel
- Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting
- Flexible with working hours, with increased availability during the summer season
- Previous maintenance experience beneficial
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to be part of a small, family-run team

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
