A friendly and supportive school in Enfield, EN3 is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join the team from September 2026. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, supporting students through challenges and helping pupils do well both in and out of the classroom.
If you have experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker or Pastoral Worker, this could be the perfect next step for you.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support students who need extra help with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
You will act as a positive role model, helping pupils build confidence, develop resilience and make positive choices throughout the school day.
Your Responsibilities
- Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils
- Support students with SEMH, ADHD, Autism (ASC) and behavioural needs
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Help pupils stay engaged and focused in lessons
- Manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies
- Support students during lessons, breaktimes and school activities
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams
- Promote confidence, independence and personal development
- Help create a safe and supportive learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children, teenagers or young people
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A calm, confident and resilient personality
- The ability to stay positive in challenging situations
- A passion for mentoring, coaching and supporting young people
- The ability to inspire, motivate and engage students
- Previous school experience is helpful but not essential
