Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our Doner Shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items, maintaining high food hygiene standards, ensuring excellent customer service, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items including:
- Chicken Doner
- Lamb Doner
- Burgers
- Wraps
- Side Items (chips, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, etc.)
- Milkshakes and cold beverages
- Ensure all food is prepared consistently to company standards.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
Food Hygiene & Safety
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and sanitation standards at all times.
- Ensure kitchen equipment and workstations are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
- Monitor food storage temperatures and maintain accurate records.
- Comply with health and safety policies and procedures.
Customer Service
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to customers.
- Handle customer requests, dietary requirements, and complaints effectively.
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
Kitchen Operations
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
- Minimize food waste and control kitchen costs.
- Support team members during busy periods.
- Open and close the kitchen according to company procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a kebab shop, takeaway, fast-food restaurant, or similar kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of preparing kebabs, burgers, wraps, side dishes, and milkshakes.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or higher preferred).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Experience

- Experience training junior kitchen staff.
