Experienced Joiner – Full Time
Stephen Loy Building Services Ltd is seeking an experienced, time-served Joiner to join our growing team on a full-time basis (39 hours per week).
We are a relationship-led specialist contractor delivering refurbishment, fit-out and construction projects across healthcare, care, commercial and high-end residential sectors throughout Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. Our work includes complex renovations, extensions, loft conversions, structural alterations and high-quality fit-out projects.
We’re looking for a skilled joiner who takes pride in his workmanship, has a positive/friendly attitude, and is confident working on a wide variety of projects alongside clients, architects, consultants and fellow tradespeople.
Key Responsibilities
- First and second fix joinery
- Timber frame and timber kit construction
- Floor and roof structures
- Door installation
- Kitchen fitting
- Loft conversions and extension works
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings
- Working as part of a team on complex refurbishment and construction projects
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ time-served experience and relevant qualifications
- Highly competent in all aspects of domestic joinery
- Ability to work from drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail
- Professional, reliable and self-motivated
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to liaise confidently with clients, architects and colleagues
- Strong understanding of current health and safety legislation and safe working practices within the construction industry
- Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential

- CSCS (preferred)
