Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, kitchen management, and culinary arts. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, and inspiring a team of chefs and kitchen staff. The Head Chef will play a vital role in creating innovative menus, maintaining excellent hospitality standards, and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the entire kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants
- Develop and implement creative menus that meet the restaurant’s brand standards and customer preferences
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
- Manage food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and control inventory to minimise waste
- Train staff on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Assist in recruitment, performance evaluations, and staff development initiatives
- Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining high-quality food standards and addressing any issues promptly
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting with a focus on culinary excellence
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, serving procedures, and customer service standards
- Previous experience in menu planning and innovation is highly desirable
