HGV Class 1 Skip Driver – Immediate Start
Due to an increase in demand, JJC Hire Ltd. are currently looking for an experienced Skip Driver based in Barrow-in-Furness. We are the largest established and respected waste disposal and recycling company in Cumbria.
Training available for new drivers. Immediate start available. GREAT RATES OF PAY
- 6.30am to 7.00am start time Monday – Friday
- Weekly Bonus Scheme
- MUST HAVE clean full Class 1 driving licence
- MUST HAVE Digital Tachograph Card
- MUST HAVE valid up to date CPC Licence
- All PPE provided on site.
Although Experience of doing chain lift skip work preferred and would be an advantage we are happy to train a willing candidate.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Delivering skips & collecting them, driving variety of vehicles (ex. 8 wheelers, road sweepers etc.) to their destination and unloading according to site requirements.
Use the correct equipment for the job and see that it is maintained correctly.
Ensure the legal requirements are complied with by following the work instructions provided and line management.
Adhere to driver hours’ legislation as required by law and ensure that hours and working arrangements are within legal limits.
Take all necessary precautions for the safety of people, vehicles and plant as per Health and Safety legislation.
Carry out Driver’s maintenance correctly, at the correct intervals, and report all vehicle equipment/container defects immediately by the approved system.

Experience:
- Driving a Goods Vehicle: 1 year (preferred)
- driving: 1 year (preferred)
- Heavy Goods Vehicle Drivers: 1 year (preferred)
