This role is ideal for a Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Supervisor looking to take the next step into a hands-on management position within a growing manufacturing business.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about driving quality improvements on the shop floor, reducing waste, and solving real operational challenges – rather than operating in a purely strategic or corporate environment.
You’ll have the opportunity to lead quality performance on site, manage a small team, and play a key role in improving processes, reducing scrap, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Improvement & Performance
- Lead root cause analysis and structured problem-solving (8D, RCA)
- Drive reductions in scrap, rework, and non-conformances (NCRs)
- Work closely with production teams to resolve shop floor quality issues
- Identify opportunities to improve process capability and product quality
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Ensure compliance with customer and internal standards
- Support internal and external audits
- Monitor KPIs and use data (SPC) to drive decision-making
Team Leadership
- Lead and support a team of approximately 10 quality staff
- Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and development
- Act as the link between quality and production teams
HSE (Supporting Responsibility)
- Support safe working practices and compliance across site
- Assist with risk assessments and incident investigations where required
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in a Quality Engineer / Senior Quality Engineer role within manufacturing
- Strong hands-on experience working with production and shop floor teams
- Proven ability to apply root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques
- Experience improving quality performance (scrap, defects, NCRs)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / quality management systems
- Desire to step into or develop within a management role
Desirable:
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or SPC tools
- Awareness of ISO 14001 / ISO 45001
Why Join?
