Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and supporting their early development. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in early childhood education within a nurturing environment. The role requires strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a caring attitude to help create a safe and engaging space for children to learn and grow.
Child Related Responsibilities
- To ensure that the children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
- Support the planning, preparation and implementation of a meaningful and effective early years curriculum based on the Montessori philosophy and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in conjunction with staff, parents and children.
- Promote equal opportunities throughout the setting.
- Support the observation and assessment of children’s learning.
- Ensure that the organisation and appearance of the classroom is maintained to a high standard.
- Display children’s work in designated areas.
Staff Related Responsibilities
- To work with and support other members of the staff team.
- To be consistent and professional at all times.
- To co-operate and communicate with the Nursery Manager over children’s transitions
- To participate in our in-house training and take advantage of training courses made available.
Parent Related Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a partnership with parents/carers and ensure their participation in the setting.
- Work alongside parents/carers of children with special needs to achieve full integration within the setting.
- Provide parents with information on a regular basis on their children’s development
- Communicate to parents/carers all other relevant information on the setting to enable their full involvement.
Organisation Related Responsibilities
- Keep abreast of current educational thought and good practice.
- Act at all times as an ambassador for The Children's House.
- Attend, as appropriate, training and personal development opportunities.
Outside Responsibilities

Hours - 16 hours per week, must be flexible to work between the hours of 7am to 6pm.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
