Care Assistant - School Setting

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are currently recruiting for a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Care Assistant to join a supportive school in Oldham from September. This rewarding role involves providing high-quality care and support to pupils with a range of additional needs, ensuring they can access education safely, comfortably, and with dignity.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in care, support work, healthcare, residential care, or special educational needs who are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.

Provide personal care support to pupils, including toileting, changing, feeding, and assistance with personal hygiene.

Support pupils with mobility needs, including moving and handling, transfers, and repositioning in line with individual care plans and risk assessments.

Assist pupils with medical, physical, and emotional needs throughout the school day.

Promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing whilst maintaining pupils' dignity at all times.

Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes, lunchtime, and educational activities.

Encourage positive communication, engagement, and social interaction.

Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure pupils receive the highest standard of care and support.

Maintain accurate records and report any welfare or safeguarding concerns promptly.

Previous experience in a care, support, healthcare, or educational setting is desirable.

A compassionate, patient, and caring approach.

Experience with personal care or willingness to undertake training.

Understanding of moving and handling procedures or willingness to complete training.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.
