The Role
As the East Regional Leak Detection Manager, you will take responsibility for the operational performance, technical standards, customer satisfaction, and commercial success of our leak detection team across East London and the surrounding areas.
You will lead, coach, and develop a team of leak detection engineers, ensuring high-quality service delivery, strong sales performance, and excellent customer outcomes. You will work closely with engineers in the field, supporting them on-site, identifying development opportunities, and helping to maximise remedial work opportunities arising from reactive jobs.
You will act as the key point of contact for operational issues within the region, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support leak detection engineers across the East region.
- Conduct regular site visits to provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance support.
- Analyse operational and sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and development needs.
- Assist engineers with complex leak detection investigations, diagnostics, and customer consultations.
- Support the preparation and presentation of quotations, scopes of work (SoW), and remedial project proposals.
- Drive conversion of remedial and follow-on works from reactive call-outs.
- Ensure customers receive exceptional service and that all works are delivered to the highest standards.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints, carrying out site visits where necessary.
- Monitor compliance with company procedures, industry regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Complete performance reviews and provide structured feedback, coaching, and development plans for team members.
- Work closely with the Head of Operations to achieve regional performance targets and business objectives.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new engineers as the team grows.
About You
You will be an experienced leak detection professional with strong leadership skills and a proven ability to manage and develop field-based teams.
Essential Requirements
- Extensive experience and relevant qualifications in plumbing and leak detection.
- Strong knowledge of damp investigation and water ingress diagnosis.
- Minimum 10 years' experience working within domestic and commercial property environments.
- Previous experience managing, mentoring, or supervising field-based engineers or tradespeople.
- Excellent understanding of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Health & Safety qualifications and experience producing and reviewing RAMS.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience identifying and developing sales opportunities.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout East London and surrounding Home Counties.
