HGV Class 1 Driver – Ad Hoc Shifts
Location: Swindon
Pay: £17.41 per hour (Days)
We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for ad hoc shifts with a well-known national distribution company based in Swindon.
Role Details
- Driving Class 1 vehicles for trunking and general haulage
- Safe and timely delivery of goods to RDCs and customer sites
- Operating and manoeuvring trailers of different types
- Minimal manual handling (mostly no-touch or pallet work)
- Completing vehicle checks and ensuring compliance with transport regulations
- Maintaining professionalism as you will represent the client on all assignments
- Flexibility required due to ad hoc nature of shifts
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Minimum 1 year Class 1 experience, including driving double deck trailers
- Valid CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
- Maximum of 6 points (no DR, DD, or IN endorsements)
- Strong understanding of driving hours, WTD, and safety regulations
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
