About Our Client:
Our client is a 64-year-old woman living independently in her own adapted home. Following a brain injury sustained in 2002, she requires 1:1 support at all times including personal care, manual handling (wheelchair transfers, walking aids, and pool hoist), medication administration, and daily living support.
She has a brilliant sense of humour and a colourful turn of phrase to match. Candidates must be comfortable with occasional profane language. She loves going to the theatre and cinema, feeding the ducks, growing her own vegetables, baking, arts and crafts, hydrotherapy in her home hydropool, and UK holidays with her care team. She also takes part in a range of therapist-led activities. She enjoys chatty company but also values her quiet time, someone who can read the room is a real asset.
Our client can occasionally experience episodes of frustration or distress. Behaviours can include verbal outbursts and some self-harm behaviour. Incidents are infrequent, roughly a handful per year, and are managed through a clear on-call structure, written procedures, and ABC recording. You will be fully trained and supported throughout.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing one to one support
- Providing full personal care including washing, bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, toileting, and grooming
- Supporting with manual handling including wheelchair transfers, walking aids, and pool hoist transfers

- Assisting with meal planning and preparation and adhering to a low fat and low sugar diet
- Supporting the client to engage in hobbies, community activities and therapist-led programmes
- Assisting in the pool to support hydrotherapy sessions
- Assisting with light household duties, and light gardening
- Completing daily support notes, ABC recording forms, and accurate handovers
- Driving the client in her own vehicle (automatic VW Caddy)
- Working collaboratively with the team, therapists, and case management
- Attending team meetings and mandatory training
