Thrive Oldham are delighted to be working with our client in the Leicestershire area, who are actively looking to recruit Specialist HGV Drivers on an ongoing basis
Job Purpose
Transport waste materials from Leicestershire County Council's Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) to disposal locations, using Hook Loader HGVs
A valid HGV Licence, driver CPC.
Significant Experience driving HGV's , working in waste haulage industry. use of specialist vehicle systems relevant to haulage waste, such as hook loader and easy sheet.
Knowledge of drive legislation, Health and Safety, particularly regarding vehicle movements on waste sites and loading containers.
Waste Haulage legislation and practice.
Rate of pay £16.00 rising to £16.50
Hours of work are 4 on 4 off 6.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday
Working pattern - Monday - Thursday or Tuesday to Friday.

Service Responsibilities
To complete all uplifts and other jobs on any given day, and to do so in the most efficient and effective manner
Comply with all systems, procedures or directions given by the Transport Supervisor or the Fleet Manager
Ensure due care for assets (including vehicles, compactors, bins and site infrastructure) when carrying out the service, minimising any incidents, accidents, damage or costs
Conduct daily vehicle checks in line with policy and legislation, and sign the driver handbook
Report all defects at the end of the day if considered serviceable, liaising with the supervisor if unsure. Major defects to be reported immediately

Complete daily sheets and submit daily, ensuring that all tickets are stapled to the worksheet concerned

Ensure Tacho's are signed for and returned monthly (or driver books)
11.
Clean up any spillages caused by your actions in the course of carrying out the service
12.
Vehicles to have enough fuel for the next working day
13.
Vehicles to be kept clean (inside and out) and presentable at all times
14.
Wear uniform at all times and when needed wear PPE to carry out duties in a safe manner in line with Health and Safety
15.
Be courteous to customers at all times
16.
Highlight any service problems you may be having to your supervisor
