We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded specialist school in Westcliff-on-Sea that supports students aged 14-19 with a wide range of complex needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex physical disabilities, medical needs and social-emotional needs.

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support students both academically and personally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher
- Encouraging independence, communication and social development
- Supporting students with Autism, SLD, PMLD and complex learning needs
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Helping create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment
- Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Desirable Experience
- Experience working with Autism (ASC)
- Experience supporting students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Previous experience in education, care, support work or youth work
- Knowledge of personal care procedures
