Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Kitchen Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety standards. The Kitchen Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and ensuring all food is presented to the highest standards.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal results
- Assist in meal plating and presentation to ensure visual appeal
- Follow all health and safety procedures to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses
- Support team members during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery of meals
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to maintain smooth kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or catering setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Previous experience in meal preparation, serving, or culinary roles is desirable but not essential
