Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Hairdressing Theory Teacher to deliver comprehensive theoretical training to aspiring hairdressers undertaking their apprenticeship. The successful candidate will possess a passion for education, a strong understanding of hairdressing principles, and excellent communication skills. This role offers an opportunity to shape the next generation of hairdressing professionals by providing engaging and informative lessons in a supportive learning environment.
The salary is pro rata the position is for 3 days a week ( Monday - Wednesday)
Duties
- Deliver engaging theoretical lessons on hairdressing topics, including hair structure, colour theory, health and safety, cutting and professional ethics
- Deliver personal development topics as part of the apprenticeship curriculum
- Oversee maths and English development sessions
- Develop lesson plans and educational materials aligned with curriculum standards
- administer examinations as per awarding organisations instructions.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their professional development
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and lesson plans
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure cohesive delivery of the training programme
- Stay updated with industry developments and incorporate new techniques into teaching content
- Organise practical demonstrations and coordinate with practical instructors as needed
Skills
- Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven teaching experience, ideally within a vocational or technical education setting
- Strong organisational skills to manage lesson planning and student records effectively
- Good IT skills for creating digital resources and managing online learning platforms
- Knowledge of plumbing is advantageous for understanding salon facilities maintenance or related practical aspects
- Excellent interpersonal skills to motivate students and foster a positive learning environment
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse learners
