We are offering an exciting opportunity for aspiring pharmacy assistants to undertake a paid Level 2 Pharmacy Services Apprenticeship within a reputable healthcare setting. This role provides hands-on experience in pharmacy operations, patient care, and medication management, fostering professional development in a supportive environment. The apprenticeship is designed to equip candidates with essential skills and knowledge necessary for a career in pharmacy support services.
Duties
- Assist licensed pharmacy technicians and pharmacists with daily operations, including preparing and dispensing medications under supervision
- Support medication administration processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols
- Organise and maintain pharmacy stock levels, including inventory checks and stock replenishment
- Provide excellent patient care by answering queries, offering guidance on over-the-counter products, and supporting patient education
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and medication logs in compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy environment to uphold health and safety standards
- Participate in training sessions and professional development activities to enhance pharmacy knowledge and skills
Qualifications Required
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour when interacting with patients and team members
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team
- A genuine interest in healthcare, medication management, and patient support
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and data entry tasks
Training
- Full training will be provided on-site and learning will be completed via an online learning portal with our training provider.
- You will be expected to attend weekly online tutor sessions
- The course covers a 12 month period
