Morson Edge is currently recruiting experienced Skilled Fitters to support a prestigious aerospace manufacturing programme based on the Isle of Wight.

To support contractors travelling from the mainland, the package includes:

The Role
As a Skilled Fitter, you'll play a key role in the manufacture and assembly of aircraft components and structures, ensuring all work is completed to the highest aerospace quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:

Manufacturing main and sub-assemblies using approved tooling, fixtures, and assembly techniques

Working on both jig-controlled and non-jig-controlled aircraft assemblies

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures

Producing first-off production units to exacting quality standards

Carrying out mechanical assembly and fitting activities
-
Ensuring compliance with aerospace quality, safety, and customer requirements
Shift Pattern
Initial Day Shift
Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
Friday: 07:45 – 12:45
Future Shift Flexibility Required
Potential move to Double Days:

06:00 – 14:00
-
14:00 – 22:00
(Weekly rotation)
Potential requirement for night shifts depending on programme demands.
Rates
Day Shift

£18.03 per hour

Weekday Overtime: £22.54 per hour

Weekend Overtime: £27.05 per hour
Double Days

£22.54 per hour (subject to availability)
What We're Looking For
-
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, or completed engineering apprenticeship
-
Mechanical fitting, assembly, or aerospace manufacturing experience
-
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical instructions
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
-
Positive approach to safety and teamwork
