Resident and Non-Resident Locum Shifts Available - Leading London Private Hospital
Resident Fellow (24/7 On-Site Cover)
The Resident Fellow provides continuous on-site medical support for non-cancer and non-haematology inpatients, working closely with Consultants, ITU teams, Clinical Site Managers and Nursing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and manage acutely unwell patients
- Lead and attend cardiac arrest and emergency calls
- Support ward teams, endoscopy, recovery and day surgery
- Clerk emergency admissions and formulate management plans
- Undertake practical procedures including:
- ABGs
- ECGs
- Catheterisation
- Venepuncture and cannulation
- Prescribing, medication reconciliation and discharge planning
- Escalation and coordination with Consultants and ICU teams
- Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and handover
Criteria
- GMC registered doctor with 2 years' NHS or equivalent UK experience
- Confident managing acute medical and surgical post-operative patients
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Comfortable working independently overnight and out-of-hours
- Valid ALS
Non-Resident Fellow (Daytime Ward-Based Cover)
The Non-Resident Fellow supports designated ward areas during daytime hours, ensuring regular patient reviews and proactive inpatient management.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily ward rounds and patient reviews
- Managing deteriorating patients and escalation of care
- Liaising directly with Consultants regarding investigations and treatment plans
- Drug chart reviews with pharmacists
- Admissions, discharge planning and TTO prescribing
- Supporting smooth patient flow and safe handovers
- Participation in MDTs, audits and teaching sessions
Criteria
- GMC registered doctor with 2 years' NHS or equivalent UK experience
- Excellent organisational and teamwork skills
- Experience in acute medicine and surgery
- Strong clinical assessment and prescribing ability
- Valid ALS
