Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Skip Truck Driver to join our busy team. As a skip driver you will be responsible for safely operating a skip truck to collect and transfer waste or recyclables from various locations. They ensure timely pickups, adhere to traffic and safety regulations, and maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the vehicle. The role requires good time management, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Duties:
- Operate skip trucks safely and efficiently to collect and transport waste or recyclables from designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and report any maintenance issues.
- Load and unload waste containers with proper care, ensuring secure transport.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure safe driving and operation of the vehicle.
- Navigate routes efficiently, optimizing pickup and delivery schedules.
- Communicate effectively with customers to confirm pickup times and address any special instructions or concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of daily trips, pickups, and deliveries.
- Ensure waste is disposed of or transferred in accordance with environmental and company policies.
- Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of the truck and equipment.
- Uphold safety standards and promote a safe work environment at all times.
- Adapt to changing schedules or routes as needed, demonstrating flexibility and professionalism.
- Report any incidents or accidents immediately to supervisors.
