Community‑Run Country Pub – Wye Valley
Location: The Rising Sun, Woodcroft (NP16)
Job Type: Permanent preferred but Seasonal considered, Full‑time or 2 part time candidates
Hours: 40-45 hours | 2 full days off
Salary: £15–£16 per hour depending on experience

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on Sous Chef to join us for a Spring/Summer seasonal role or preferably a permanent role to work closely with our Head Chef and General Manager in a well‑run, positive kitchen environment.
You will:
- Cook fresh, high‑quality homemade pub food from scratch
- Support menu development and create seasonal specials
- Run service confidently on the Head Chef’s days off
- Maintain excellent hygiene standards and our 5‑star food rating
- Help mentor junior chef and KP’s and maintain consistency
- Thrive in a busy service while remaining calm and professional
About You
- Experienced Sous Chef (pub or gastro‑pub background preferred)
- Passionate about good food done properly
- Reliable, flexible and a strong team player
- Comfortable working under pressure during peak services
- Food Hygiene Level 2 essential (Level 3 advantageous)
- First Aid / Fire Training desirable but not essential
Pay & Benefits
- £15–£16 per hour (dependent on experience)
