Salary - £40,405.61 + 30% Shift Allowance
Location - Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN16 1XA
Pattern of Work - 42 hours, shifts
What you need to know about the role
Working within the Scunthorpe Rod Mill and reporting to the Shift Manager your primary role is to ensure equipment availability by dynamically responding to any faults and ensuring normal operation of plant and equipment.
You will be required to undertake planned routine inspections and jobs, and may also be involved in projects and development work. You will often be required to fault find and provide data and feedback following any significant events.
You will be expected to understand the principles of asset maintenance and using our maintenance systems on SAP, undertake the following:
- Find work assigned to your shift and area
- Safely Execute the Task following all relevant H+S BSL Rules
- Prioritise and complete the tasks assigned
- Create jobs (PM orders) for emerging work during the shift
- Feedback on all assigned and emerging work or reschedule
- Find and obtain spares and goods from stores
What we need to know about you
You must be qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in a relevant mechanical trade or have served a recognised apprenticeship*
You should ideally be able to demonstrate experience and competence in a similar role. You should be able to demonstrate a high level of practical appreciation and application of technology to process and plant equipment. Ideally you will have a thorough working knowledge of H&S principles and British Steel systems.
