We are located very close to March train station and Downham Market train station (direct train line from Kings Cross in 90mins). We advertise out of area to attract people from denser populated parts of the country who can easily commute to our homes.
We are seeking to recruit to the position of Team Leader at Escalon House based in the village of Outwell, Norfolk (on the Cambs border).
Working 5 days on (including a 24 hour break in the middle of the week) followed by 5 days off allows huge continuity of care to the children, young people and staff alike and allows minimal travel for you to and from home.
The Team Leader’s key role is to:
- Lead a team of staff and be a part of providing professional care to a group of children and young people within a residential setting and supporting the Deputy or Home Manager as required.
- Managing a Weekly Budget for the Home.
- Managing a team of Staff and ensuring that all tasks designated by the Deputy or Home Manager are completed.
- Attending Management Meetings to identify tasks, strategies of care and development opportunities for children and staff.
- Overseeing primary carer tasks and completion of paperwork.
- Implementing Outcomes from Inspections and Reg 44 visits.
- Working in partnership with families and external agencies.
- Carrying out formal Staff Supervisions.
- Work to the current 5 on 5 off Working pattern including some sleep-ins. Private, furnished bedroom with TV in a staff flat available. The home is staffed through the night by a Waking Night Support Worker.
To apply for this role you will need to have:
Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People/ Residential Childcare (or equivalent Level 3 + qualification directly relevant to the profession).
Experience of shift leading and at least 2 years of working with Looked After Children is essential for this role.
A good level of Computer Literacy.
Caring and Compassionate Nature.
Desire to further own skill base through work based training and ability to reflect on own practice.
