Discount Builders Merchants are a family-owned and rapidly growing company with over 20 years’ experience supplying the building trade and DIY enthusiasts. We proudly operate depots across the West Midlands, Banbury, and Kent, and due to continued expansion, we are looking for two experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to work on a self employed basis.
Key responsibilities-
· Carry out multi-drop deliveries to customers in the surrounding area, ensuring a high standard of customer service.
· Safely operate and drive Class 2 HGV vehicles in accordance with company and legal requirements.
· Always liaise professionally with customers and colleagues.
· Assist yard staff with loading and unloading vehicles when required.
· Represent Discount Builders Merchants positively as a key face of the business.
Qualifications and Skills
· Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence.
· Digital tachograph card and up-to-date CPC training (essential).
· HIAB certification and experience preferred — training can be provided for the right candidate.
· Knowledge of building materials or the builders’ merchant’s industry would be an advantage.
· Must maintain a clean driving record (no more than 6 penalty points).
Experience:
· Minimum 1 year of HGV Class 2 driving experience (required).
· Previous experience within a Builders Merchant or construction delivery role (preferred).
· HIAB and Forklift Truck experience (advantageous).
